PLATELET RICH PLASMA

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

PRP is made from your own blood. Platelet Rich Plasma has platelet concentrations approximately 5x that of a typical blood sample. Platelets are largely known for coagulation (blood clotting ability) and have many growth factors that promote cell growth, wound healing and tissue regeneration. This is why physicians have used PRP since the 1990's for various purposes in medicine.

The Process

A small amount of blood (1-2 tubes) is taken similar to having regular bloodwork drawn. The blood is separated into PRP and red blood cells in a machine called a centrifuge. When completed, you can visualize the separatio,. PRP is activated, and used for injection.

This may be done with small needles, a microneedling device or automated-delivery device.

Treatment Sessions

Multiple sessions are required to achieve sustained results. You will notice an improvement in skin and hair quality immediately. The most benefit will be seen at 6-8 weeks as tissue regeneration occurs like wound healing (Think about how long it takes for your injuries to heal over).
