What’s normal after a procedure?
THREAD LIFT POST-PROCEDURE
-
It is common to feel tender, sore, swollen, and tight for the next 1-2 weeks. It is normal to feel tugging or soreness as you move the treated area. This will diminish.
-
You may have bruising. This is normal. You can use arnica over-the-counter to assist in reducing bruising. Bruising will dissipate over the next 7-14 days depending on your individual healing process.
-
Do not apply any kind of downward pressure to your face (this will reduce the effect of your threads).
-
Do not wash your face for 24 hours. Do not touch your entry point for 48 hours. When you wash your face after 48 hours, avoid pressure until it is comfortable.
-
Avoid make-up and skin-care products for 48 hours.
-
Pain management can be achieved by taking Tylenol as per recommended dosing instructions and using a cool compress (in 20-minute increments).
-
Sleeping on you back is ideal (but not required) for the next 3-5 days to avoid movement or pressure on the threads.
-
Do not receive deep facial massage for the next 2 months.
-
Do not pick the tiny scab that may form at entry site. If it itches, hydrogen peroxide on a Q-tip may be gently applied to the site.
-
Do not perform strenuous exercise for 1 week. You may want to delay further strenuous exercise if your healing is prolonged.
-
Do not take a hot tub, or sauna for one week.
-
Do not drink alcohol for 1 week. Smoking and drinking alcohol will slow down the healing process.
-
Do not make exaggerated facial expressions for about 2-3 weeks. Avoid aggressive or prolonged chewing, wide yawning, or smiling too large for up to 1 month (flossing teeth).
-
Do avoid dental work, including cleanings, for 4 weeks unless it is an emergency.
-
Contact your injector if you have any excess redness, pain, tenderness especially if they are increasing or if you have any questions or concerns that require clarification.
